“She learned that she is capable of doing more in one day than she ever realized was possible”
Hannah was born 12 weeks early with a hole in her heart and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. A disorder of movement, muscle tone, or posture, cerebral palsy heavily affects muscle control and coordination. Vital functions that involve motor skills and muscles are affected. These include breathing, eating, and learning, for example. Hannah uses a wheelchair for mobility and attends physical therapy for her arms and legs. She also has a service dog named Chewy. Her life-threatening condition has not affected Hannah negatively when it comes to academics. She is at the top her class and enjoys reading and writing. Hannah is a bright, witty, and driven. One of her favorite television shows is CSI: Crime Scene Investigation because of all of the complexities that go into solving a crime.
Kids Wish Network planned an authentic Las Vegas experience for Hannah, complete with a full day at CSI: The Experience. Not much of a quote….Hannah joined forces with a team of investigators to identify evidence at the scene of a crime. Using the latest in forensic scientific advances, she put her investigative skills to the test in order to see if she had what it takes to solve mysteries. Hannah excelled at each challenge and closed all three cases set before her. She loved learning about all of the techniques to analyze clues in order to put the puzzle pieces of a crime scene together.
The fun continued when Hannah was picked up on the Las Vegas Strip by none other than Elvis. Courtesy of A Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, “The King” took Hannah on a tour of Las Vegas in his bubble gum pink Cadillac. The rock n’ roll legend and cultural icon impersonator showed Hannah famous landmarks around town and even serenaded her. For lunch, she enjoyed reservations at Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House in the MGM Grand Casino Hotel. The restaurant quickly became Hannah’s favorite after they made her a grand four course meal and presented her with an assortment of delicious desserts.
Other highlights of Hannah’s trip included tickets to Madame Tussauds, the Mob Museum, Luxor Titanic Exhibition, Blue Man Group, and the MJ Live Michael Jackson tribute show. The wax figures were so lifelike at Madame Tussauds that Hannah had to do a double take when she saw “Oprah.” Hannah loved all of the streamers and positive messages at Blue Man Group. After the show, they posed for photos with Hannah, cracked jokes, signed souvenirs for her, and showered her with attention.
With limo escorts, elegant dinners, and luxury accommodations, Hannah’s wish trip was nothing short of spectacular. “It was fabulous, and I loved it. We would not have been able to do it had it not been for Kids Wish Network,” said Hannah.
“The trip was superb, fantastic, fun, meaningful, and something we will never forget,” added her mom Dawn. “It was full of so many incredible experiences.”.
