“Luke is very proud of his award”
For 21 long days, Luke suffered from a high fever and spent time in two hospitals. While at Orange Regional Medical Center, Luke impressed the staff so much that they nominated him as a Hero of the Month!
“ORMC provided our son with excellent care for those difficult two weeks,” said his mom.
Luke spent six days at the facility, undergoing multiple tests, blood draws, and X-rays while awaiting a diagnosis.
His nominating Child Life Specialist describes Luke as “sweet and cheerful. He was such a team player while he was here. While on our unit he maintained a watchful eye and got to know everyone who cared for him. Luke portrayed himself as an extremely mature and sweet young man.”
Luke eventually was transferred to another hospital and diagnosed with a “fever of unknown origin” caused by a super-virus.
“Luke is very proud of his award and brought his certificate to school to show his classmates how brave he was,” adds his mom. “Thank you for turning a very difficult time for us into a positive experience for Luke and our family.”
Kids Wish Network is proud to call Luke a Hero of the Month and happy to report he is 100% healed after his super-virus.
