“Keagen had a blast on his trip”

At 4 months old, Wish Kid Keagen was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that permanently affects body movement and muscle coordination. Shortly after the diagnosis, Keagen started physical therapy in an attempt to relieve his muscles of the stiffness caused by the disorder. Unfortunately, the therapy wasn’t very successful, and Keagen has needed multiple Botox injections to help reduce the tightness of the muscles on his left side. Keagen has also undergone two surgeries to try and lengthen the muscles in his hand and leg.

Keagen was also diagnosed with epilepsy in January 2014. Although he’s on anti-seizure medication, Keagen still suffers from occasional morning seizures. He has also needed surgery on his tear ducts, had tubes placed in his ears, and attends physical and occupational therapies as part of his treatment.

While Keagen is sometimes sad over his constant health issues, the 6-year-old is an outgoing and funny boy who loves playing with LEGOS and watching Disney shows. Kids Wish Network was excited to combine some of his favorite things and grant Keagen a once-in-a-lifetime wish.

Keagen stayed a fun accommodations, swam in the pool, visited LEGOLAND and Magic Kingdom, “wrestled” a gator, had his face painted, had breakfast with Goofy and Pluto, dined with Superman, and charmed everyone he met.

“Keagen had a blast on his trip,” recalls his mom. “He loved LEGOLAND and Gatorland; he even got to sit on an alligator. At his character breakfast, he couldn’t get enough of Pluto and Goofy; he wrote Goofy an “I love you” note and gave it to him. Keagen posed for pictures at Texas Roadhouse and gave a shout-out to the chef. He loved everything.”
