“Brooklyn is a trooper”
The first time little Brooklyn fell ill with pneumonia, she only need a four day stay at BSA Health System hospital. But this time around, the 4-year-old was admitted for close to two weeks. Described as a “little diva” with “so much personality”, Brooklyn was quite the trooper during her recent stay at the hospital.
In order to treat her pneumonia, Brooklyn needed to have a central line implanted with a chest tube. The line even had to be repositioned, which was a painful procedure for Brooklyn. Brooklyn was also required to do breathing treatments every two hours, vest therapy every four hours, needed an oxygen tube and feeding tube, and was on antibiotics and pain medication.
Despite all of her struggles, Brooklyn remained brave and strong. KWN and BSA Health System are proud to honor Brooklyn as a Hero of the Month!
Congratulations Brooklyn; you inspire us all!!
