“Faith loved seeing all the characters”
Wish Kid Faith is definitely a “miracle baby.” When she was still in the womb, doctor’s painted a very grim picture of her health. Born weighing only four pounds, Faith was diagnosed with pulmonary artresia, a heart defect that prevents blood from successfully traveling from the heart to the lungs.
Faith had her first surgery at just 4 days old. Her condition is caused by a faulty heart valve, so doctors initially tried to replace it with an artificial version. That was soon replaced by a bovine valve. Faith has suffered through two open heart surgeries and faces more in the future. She also may need a pacemaker because her heart beats far harder than it should.
As a result of being intubated for long periods of time during surgeries, Faith needed two separate operations to remove scar tissue in her esophagus. She also sees a cardiologist every six months to determine when she’ll need her next surgery.
Faith continues to fight against her many life-threatening complications with a constant smile on her face. KWN was excited to make that smile even bigger when we granted Faith’s wish for a magical Disney experience.
KWN sent Faith and her family on a once-in-a-lifetime experience complete with meeting characters, dining at fun restaurants, and exploring all the local parks. Faith loved visiting the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and SeaWorld.
“We really had a great time,” recalls Faith’s mom. “Faith’s favorite thing was seeing all the characters and visiting SeaWorld.”
