DENVER, Colo. (Oct. 9, 2014): For a child, finding comfort in a hospital setting can be difficult at times. This is a reality for many kids across the United States, and more specifically, for the hundreds of pediatric patients served by Denver Health Foundation. But thanks to children’s charity Kids Wish Network and generous partners, the children can take comfort in a new gift.
With the help of generous Guardian Angel donors, Kids Wish Network recently donated over $20,000 worth of new toys, games, and comforting essentials to Denver Health Foundation as part of the charity’s Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program. The program, along with the On Tour Event program, benefits kids dealing with illness, abuse, neglect, or homelessness by providing items that offer a welcome distraction from upsetting and often traumatic experiences.
The charity works with a large network of hospitals, shelters, outreach programs, and other facilities across the nation to distribute new toys, games, necessities and educational products to children dealing with difficult and often tragic circumstances. Through the program, hundreds of thousands of children are helped each year.
The arrival of a Gift Bank to a hospital or homeless shelter is always met with enthusiasm and cheers. Kids Wish Network selects, packs and ships every Gift Bank from its central office location in Holiday, FL, and delivers it to the facility free of charge.
“Denver Health cares for 40% of Denver’s children. A gift like this from Kids Wish Network makes it possible for many of our patients to receive a special toy at the time of their hospitalization or emergency room visit, and it means the world to them,” said Robin Engleberg, Denver Health Foundation Program Manager.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank its generous sponsors who make this Gift Bank, and hundreds of others across the United States, possible through caring donations.
Kids Wish Network is a national charitable organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children having experience life-altering situations. Come experience the Kids Wish Network difference at www.kidswishnetwork.org.
