FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.: With the support of community-sponsor and board member Andy Gottlieb and Benton Global, children’s charity Kids Wish Network hosted a day of festivities to celebrate the athletes of Special Olympics Broward County. The celebration was held at B’nai Aviv Kehillah Club and each athlete received a gift bag stuffed with new toys and games distributed personally by the Lady Panthers.
“It was great to have these two organizations come together again to provide gifts for the athletes,” said Gottlieb. “Seeing the joy on a kid’s face is a wonderful feeling, and having the Lady Panthers hand out gift bags was special for everyone.”
Gottlieb serves as a specialized coach in aquatics, basketball and soccer for Special Olympics and is in his fifth year as a board member for Kids Wish Network. Gottlieb sponsored the event and helped connect the two organizations. He also supports Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, both located in the Broward-area. Kids Wish Network is a Florida-based charitable organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children having experienced life-altering situations.
“We are honored to, once again, celebrate the athletes of the Special Olympics Broward County,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Anna Lanzatella. “These children serve as an inspiration to our organization, and it’s fantastic to see the local community embrace this event wholeheartedly.”
This is the second time Kids Wish Network and Special Olympics Broward County have connected for this event. Although it’s known mainly as a wish-granting organization, Kids Wish Network works to provide joy to all children suffering from life-altering situations. The charity works with over 125 hospitals and care facilities across the United States to distribute more than $2 million in gifts and necessities to children each year. Kids Wish Network provides toys and necessities to hospitals, advocacy centers, shelters and other facilities for distribution to the children in their care.
Kids Wish Network and the athletes of Special Olympics Broward County would like to thank all the sponsors who helped make this event possible: Andy Gottlieb, Cesar Calle of Rumba DJ’s Entertainment, Benton Global, the Lady Panthers and the B’nai Aviv Kehillah Club.
