Dylan sustained burns on 84% of his total body surface
When Dylan was only 18 months old, he was playing outside with his father and brother when a gas can exploded. Dylan sustained burns on 84% of his total body surface; Dylan’s father was also injured in the accident. Dylan began treatment at Shriners – Cincinnati two weeks after his accident. While in the hospital, he had several painful skin grafting surgeries to allow for wound coverage. He then had to endure several therapy sessions, including periods with two per day.
Dylan, now 5, continues to receive treatment at Shriners – Cincinnati for procedures and surgeries and has remained extremely strong thought his ordeal, setting a great example for a true HERO.
