TIPTON, IN. – International children’s charity Kids Wish Network today turned a teen’s dream into reality by granting 18- year –old Weston Sitzes, who suffers from a life threatening illness, to have his very own Alienware Laptop. Kids Wish Network is a charitable organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children having experienced life-altering situations.
“We are so lucky to have the opportunity to put smiles on the faces of young children struggling with life –altering circumstances,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Anna Lanzatella.
In April of 2013, Weston started having unexplainable aches and pains throughout his body. The pain started increasing making it impossible for him to walk. By the end of May he started experiencing excruciating pain in his jaw, so much so that he could not eat. He went to a dentist who thought it was his wisdom teeth. In the begging of June, he started to have chest pains with an abnormally high heart rate. His parents took him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The word “acute” in acute lymphocytic leukemia comes from the fact that the disease progresses rapidly and creates immature blood cells, rather than mature ones. Weston is currently undergoing Chemotherapy.
Kids Wish Network has been making dreams come true for hundreds of thousands of children all over the world for more than 15 years. When given the opportunity to have a wish granted, Weston’s was clear: an Alienware Laptop.
“Weston is so thankful for the amazing wish he received! He is really enjoying his laptop! “said Alisha, Weston’s mother. “Thank you so much Kids Wish Network!”
