“Adrian loved meeting Spiderman”

Adrian was diagnosed at birth with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening, genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. People suffering from cystic fibrosis inherit a defective gene that causes a buildup of thick mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. This sticky mucus can clog the lungs, making it very difficult to breathe, and can trap bacteria in the airways causing infections and inflammation that often lead to severe lung damage and respiratory failure.

Adrian has suffered through multiple surgeries and requires four breathing treatments a day; two before school, one in the afternoon and a final one right before bed. These treatments help loosen the thick mucus that causes breathing trouble. He also wears a chest compression vest to continuously provide the therapy throughout the day.

Despite his dangerous condition, Adrian lives every day to the fullest. He loves school, excels at math and enjoys playing the viola. He also loves spending time with his family. Adrian’s older brother, Austin, also suffers from cystic fibrosis, so family time is extremely precious.

The entire family loved visiting Disney World and Universal Studios for Adrian’s wish. Adrian got to meet Spiderman, go on amazing adventure rides and eat at awesome Orlando-area restaurants.

Adrian continues to struggle against his life-threatening condition, but works hard every day to get the most out of life.
