Her Life Was Turned Upside Down…

In 2010 Kristen’s life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Chronic Myelocytic Leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Kristen has endured so much since this life-threatening illness, including a recent, excruciatingly painful bone marrow transplant to try to remove the cancerous cells afflicting her body.

A once in a lifetime experience…

Heart racing, vivid daydreams and extreme excitement was exactly how Kristen felt days before her wish to the Big Apple. Set to leave for her 5 day trip to New York City, she couldn’t sleep. She had been dreaming about this for a very long time and could only imagine what was in store for her. She knows she is going to have a blast…Kids Wish Network arranged an all-expense paid trip for Kristen and her family to go to New York City. The entire family enjoyed the exceptional treatment they received everywhere they went; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway and trips to all of the wonderful landmarks New York City has to offer.

“It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget! I loved getting dressed up and going out to dinner!” said Kristen.

She is full of Courage…

Even though Kristen has endured so much at such a young age, she fights everyday with a smile and a brave attitude. She is a role model to everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her. She will always have this experience as a reminder that life is full of breathtaking moments.
