Kids Wish Network Announces Winner of 2012 Camaro Dream Giveaway

HOLIDAY, Fla. – International children’s charity Kids Wish Network today announced that 71 year-old Ron Seppi from Metuchen, New Jersey, was named the grand prize winner of the 2012 Camaro Dream Giveaway, a nationwide drawing sponsored by the organization. Mr. Seppi along with his wife Nikki, will accept the amazing Grand Prize package later this month at a ceremony to be held at Alternative Automotive Technologies in Troy, Michigan. Kids Wish Network also announced that this will be end of their sponsorship of the Dream Giveaway program.

“Our partnership with Dream Giveaway has been an innovative opportunity to raise public awareness around the work that we do at Kids Wish Network, and the difference we are making in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children with the aid of our generous donors,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Anna Lanzatella. “We will continue to explore new and strategic ways to educate the public about how they can help and get involved.”

Mr. Seppi will become the owner of a pair of Camaros; a 1969 Camaro SS/RS and a matching 2012 Camaro SS/RS supercharged by SLP Performance to 770hp! In addition, Mr. Seppi will be receive $35,000 cash to help pay the prize taxes. Mr. Seppi entered the 2012 Camaro Dream Giveaway on three separate occasions, each time making a $50 tax-deductible donation. Members of Dream Giveaway and Kids Wish Network were on hand to congratulate him when he received the winning phone call. He was stunned when he heard the news, “My heart is pounding,” Mr. Seppi said. “I have a 23 year-old car that is literally on its last legs. This is such great news and I am smiling from ear to ear.”

Mr. Seppi, who in his free time enjoys swimming, biking, running, and playing tennis, retired as a highschool computer literacy teacher in 2007. It wasn’t until he received a mailer for the 2012 Camaro Dream Giveaway that he decided to enter, “This is a dream come true,” Mr. Seppi said. “I have had an interest in performance cars since I was a child. I am also glad I was able to help benefit some wonderful children’s charities.”

Kids Wish Network is a Tampa-based charitable organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children who have experienced life-altering situations. Thousands of entries were received over the course of the giveaway as a means of helping important children’s causes. As a result of this event, Kids Wish Network will award grants to Camp Boggy Creek and the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.

Camp Boggy Creek is a year round medical camp for children ages 7-16 who suffer from chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The camp was co-founded by actor/philanthropist Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer’s mission is to erase the effects of pediatric cancer and optimize each child’s quality of life through essential specialized intervention beginning at the time of diagnosis and continuing throughout survivorship.
