Before she was born, Taylor was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome – a condition in which the left side of her heart is underdeveloped. This condition causes the right side of the heart work harder to maintain circulation for both the lungs and the rest of the body. At ten days old, Taylor underwent the first of three essential heart surgeries and had a shunt inserted into her aorta. Taylor was also diagnosed with a clotting disorder in which her blood clots excessively, causing a lack of circulation. Taylor must take daily medications to manage her conditions, and she must also visit the cardiologist for checkups every six months.
For her wish, Taylor was able to enjoy a California vacation complete with tickets to Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood! She enjoyed all the rides she could handle and, if you were to ask her what her favorite ride was, she would say either the Disney’s Cars ride or riding the roller coaster at Paradise Pier in Disney’s California Adventure.
