Rebecca was born with Smith-Lemli-Optiz syndrome. This genetic disorder can cause a variety of life-threatening conditions, including heart and organ defects, low muscle tone, learning disabilities, hearing issues, bone deformities, and feeding difficulties. Rebecca suffers from several heart defects and has already endured two heart surgeries. She also has a curvature of the spine called scoliosis and will soon have to endure a surgery to insert metal bars into her spine to help correct it.
For her wish, Rebecca wanted to have a swimming pool of her very own. Thanks to the amazing generosity of her local community, Rebecca got not only a pool, but also the wish of a lifetime!
The firefighters of the Bossier City Fire Department rallied together and teamed up with the nearby Genoa Fire Department to help make Rebecca’s pool wish come true in the best way possible. They set up Rebecca’s pool and, with the help of B&P Dirt Works and Acadian Concepts LLC., the firefighters also built a brand new deck and wheelchair ramp to help make the pool more accessible for Rebecca.
For this Arkansas girl, one simple wish turned out to be a real big splash!

I recieved a brochure via mail from Kids Wish Network, regarding the Camaro Dream Giveaway just a few days ago. I was a previous donor/entrant and I am happy to say I completely believe in your organization as being legitimate. In our local newspaper, Texarkana Gazette, front page story, August 27, 2012 is an article about little 11 year old Rebecca from Fouke Arkansas being granted her wish for a swimming pool at her home. You did it! With the help of many local volunteer firefighters and others. Thank You! I hope to be able to donate in the future to such a worthy cause. May God continue to bless this organization.
