Luis is a friendly teen with a positive attitude. He loves the movie “Fast & Furious,” playing his PS3, and his mom’s home-cooked lasagna. Luis’s favorite sport is soccer and he is a big fan of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. He also enjoys learning about computer science, math, and physics, and is described by his family as a “remarkable kid!”
Luis has been diagnosed with a type of bone cancer called Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma. There was a tumor in his leg, which was removed and replaced with an internal prosthesis. After 39 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Luis is still in a lot of pain. He is currently going through severe rehab therapy but remains extremely motivated.
