Summer is Here!

It’s true what our parents have been telling us for many generations: “The older you get, the quicker the years fly by”. If it wasn’t for the sticky, warm temperatures and frequent thunderstorms, I would find it hard to believe that it’s summer time already.

While I personally love the summer, spending my weekends poolside and teaching my toddler how to swim, the heat and humidity can often be too much for children to enjoy many of the other outside activities, not to mention all the extra rainy days we get. Fortunately, thanks to generous organizations such as Anchor Bay Entertainment, fewer kids will have to wonder what to do on those wet rainy days or the days that they’re too sick to pull themselves together.

Anchor Baby Entertainment donated 2 full boxes of some of the most sought after children’s DVDs, such as “Wow Wow Wubbzy,” “Chuggington” and “Eloise in Hollywood.” These DVDs will be put into our Gift Banks and then distributed to hospitalized children. The DVDs will also be put into gift bags that will go to the children served by our Kids Wish Network On Tour program; these kids are the ones who have endured the most severe cases of abuse, neglect, homelessness and other forms of adversity. The kids will love spending some time with their families and caregivers while they watch these fun movies.

For their fabulous donation, I would like to send a big thank you out to Anchor Bay Entertainment. Also, I would like to thank all the other organizations that help ease the pain and heartaches of suffering children nationwide.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a donor, please visit our ways to help page.
