Kids Wish Network and Walmart Help To Make Hartford Child’s Wish Come True

Jarvis Ward saw his wish come true on Tuesday morning when a University of Alabama 18-wheeler picked him up for a trip to Walmart. It wasn’t the only surprise of trip.

Greeting Jarvis on the truck was University of Alabama inside linebacker Nico Johnson who wanted to help out with the wish.

Jarvis, a 6-year-old from Hartford, Alabama has cancer. Kids Wish Network fulfills the wishes of children ages 3 to 18 suffering with life-threatening medical conditions or exceptional circumstances as determined by medical professionals.

Jarvis had a wish with Kid Wish to go on a shopping spree and the opportunity was met thanks to support by many including the Geneva Walmart. Jarvis was given $1000 to spend in Walmart.

After arriving at the store led by law enforcement officials from throughout Geneva County, Jarvis went to the employee break room where he was treated to refreshment before heading out onto the floor to start his wish. His first target was electronics where he picked up the latest game systems before heading to the gun case to get a bb gun.

Jarvis’ adventure then landed in the toy section of the store where he picked up a new bike before going back to electronics to look at tv’s. The whole time Jarvis got the assistance of Johnson and the attention of store employees and numerous media outlets.

All in all it was a dream come true for Jarvis as he got a shopping spree and the assistance of a starting football player from his favorite college team in the process!

Matt Perry is the Store Manager of the Geneva Walmart. Debbie Elmore is the Assistant Manger.
