Last year, Kids Wish Network was honored to assist our military service men and women by participating in The Randy Oler Memorial Operation Toy Drop. This event, which is organized by Fort Bragg’s airborne community, supplies toys and gifts to orphans and families in need throughout the Fayetteville, N.C. area.
After hearing about the operation’s need for toys, Kids Wish Network immediately contacted Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Ostlund of Operation Toy Drop, who was elated to accept pallets of brand new toys to help thousands of children. Kids Wish Network was honored to be able to participate in this truly moving event and help the men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe.
Kids Wish Network is excited to announce that we are again participating in the 2011 Operation Toy Drop. This event brings the entire community surrounding Ft Bragg, N.C. together to help children in need and being able to give back to our service members, and help children at the same time is an overwhelming feeling.
Since 1998, U.S. Army base Fort Bragg and the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command [USACAPOC (A)] have hosted the Randy Oler Memorial Operation Toy Drop to benefit children in need. During a week-long toy drive, paratroopers and other members of the military bring new, unwrapped toys to the base to benefit the children in need all around Fort Bragg.
Once collected, the toys are sorted according to age and gender and are then wrapped and distributed to local children’s homes and social service agencies. Since the operation’s inception, soldiers have collected and distributed toys to thousands of children in need including every child who lost a parent in the tragic 9/11 attacks.
