By the time she was 6-months-old, Paige’s doctors told her parents that she had cystic fibrosis, a devastating disease that causes mucus buildup to clog various organs including the lungs, pancreas, liver and intestines. This condition often leads to life-threatening lung infections and also interferes with food absorption. She has endured a surgery to remove her gallbladder and is in and out of the hospital frequently. Paige must suffer through daily nebulizer and compression treatments as well as having to take digestive enzymes when she eats.
For her wish, Paige wanted to swim with her favorite animals, dolphins! During a trip to Key Largo, Florida, Paige finally had the chance to swim with dolphins and even got a kiss from one! She had a great time and her mom says that, since she’s returned home, she can’t stop talking about her marvelous wish!
