I LOVED “Monster Jam!”

Name: Hunter
Age: 11
State: AR

Wish Kid

Hunter was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia which is a malformed hernia. This condition caused him to have chronic lung syndrome, which robbed him of his ability to breathe on his own, forcing him to use a ventilator. Hunter also suffers from a curvature of the spine called scoliosis and a cleft palate. As an infant, Hunter underwent corrective surgery for his cleft palate as well as various surgeries for his diaphragmatic hernia; he also had surgery to insert a feeding tube and a tracheotomy to insert the ventilator tube. In addition, Hunter’s various medicines caused him to suffer hearing loss and his immune system is severely compromised. Hunter cannot walk and is dependent on a wheelchair for mobility.

For his wish, Hunter wanted to attend a Monster Jam event and he had a blast over two days! Each day he got to watch the Monster Jam and he even had a chance to meet the drivers and sit in the trucks. On the first night, Pablo Huffaker, one of the drivers of the famous “Grave Digger” truck, won the wheelie competition and, when presented with his award, he ran over to Hunter and gave it to him! The same thing happened the next night when the “Destroyer” truck driver won that night’s wheelie competition! What a “monster” of a wish!

Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for helping to make Hunter’s wish extra special: Rineco, Benton Lions Club, Saline County Fraternal Order of Police, Monster Jam, Westin Crown Center, Handicap Conversions Inc., The National World War I Museum, The Kansas City Zoo, Jack Stack BBQ,  Hyatt Regency Crown Center and Skies Restaurant & Lounge.
