A ndy Gottlieb, whose friends call him a “local hero,” recently was elected to the Kids Wish Network board of directors.
That’s not just another important title for Gottlieb to add to his list. He was named to the position because he has been a supporter of the charity for years. In fact, the retired tax accountant has dedicated most of his life to helping children in need.
According to a press release, Gottlieb is also a certified Broward County teacher. He volunteers with the Special Olympics and is a specialized coach in aquatics, basketball and bowling. Since 1999, he has generously supported the Kids Wish Network and its programs through the Arnold and Joy Gottlieb Family Foundation, of which he is a trustee.
Through the foundation, Gottlieb has for the past three years, supported the network’s Hero of the Month and Holiday of Hope Gift Bank programs at the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital in Fort Lauderdale and the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers. Recently the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood was added to the list.
Anna Lanzatella, chief financial officer and director of development for Kids Wish Network said in a statement, “Words cannot express my true appreciation for all the support the Arnold and Joy Gottlieb Family Foundation have provided to Kids Wish Network throughout the years. We are especially grateful to Andy Gottlieb. He truly is our Guardian Angel and we are so grateful to have his support.”
