Bridget is a fun-loving 9-year-old whose personality can best be described as bubbly. She loves to read and play with makeup. Her favorite show is the Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” and her favorite singer and actress is the star of that show, Selena Gomez.
Bridget was born with a condition called Chronic Intestinal Psuedo-obstruction, which blocks her digestive tract so much that she cannot eat food like other people and must rely on a feeding tube for nourishment. For this condition, Bridget’s doctors are considering giving her a complete GI tract transplant in the future, but are unsure if she can stand it because she also suffers from a heart condition called Cardiomyopathy that has blocked her heart 100%. This would make a transplant very risky for the little girl. However, for this heart condition, Bridget’s doctors implanted a pacemaker in her chest to regulate the beating of her heart. In addition, Bridget suffers from Chronic Lung Disease and is currently dependant on a ventilator. In 2008, Bridget was also diagnosed with having an immune deficiency that caused her immune system to attack itself, causing her to feel like she is constantly suffering from the flu. That same year, Bridget suffered a stroke. Bridget relies on a wheelchair for mobility and must also be homeschooled.
For her wish, Bridget got an Xbox 360 of her very own to play all sorts of fun games and she just loves it!
