A Wish in the “Golden State”

Right now as I type this, one of our wish coordinators, Jill, is out granting a very special wish in the “Golden State,” a.k.a. California.

The little girl whose wish is being granted is just 8-years-old and her name is Amber. She’s a fun-loving girl whose favorite TV show is Nickelodeon’s “iCarly.” In fact, she loves the show so much, that that’s what her wish is: to visit the set of “iCarly.”

Like all of our wish kids, Amber really deserved a good wish after all she’s dealt with in her 8 years. You see, Amber has a connective tissue disorder called Marfan Syndrome that has affected her heart, eyes and limbs. She’s dealt with a major heart surgery, three eye surgeries and a surgery to implant metal rods in her back. Because of this, she has had various casts and braces and also relies on a wheelchair to get around.

Amber is out on her wish right now and I just can’t wait for Jill to get back on Monday to tell us how Amber enjoyed it! I bet she’ll have lots of great stories! Then, to top it off, either Elizabeth or I will get the privilege of talking to Amber’s family to see how they enjoyed the trip, too! I just can’t wait!
