Girl with Life-Threatening Illness Enjoys Wish of a Lifetime in Florida

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (MMD Newswire) June 30, 2010 — A little girl with a life-threatening illness had the wish of her life granted thanks to Kids Wish Network and some fantastic Florida sponsors.

Right after she was born, Triniti was diagnosed with having a blood disorder called Sickle Cell Anemia. This disease causes restricted blood flow to the body’s organs and those suffering with Sickle Cell Anemia experience severe episodes of pain and eventual organ damage; they are also at high risk for stroke and cardiac arrest. Triniti suffers debilitating migraines and has extreme pain crises in which she is unable even to walk. She has endured two blood transfusions and must have nebulizer treatments daily.

During another trip to the hospital, Triniti’s social worker told the little girl’s mother about national children’s charity Kids Wish Network and the wishes they grant to children, like Triniti, who suffer from life-threatening illnesses; the social worker referred Triniti and it wasn’t long before a wish coordinator was asking the spunky 6-year-old what she wanted to wish for: a chance to visit the theme parks in Orlando, Florida.

When Triniti found out that her wish was approved and that the family was slated to go to Florida in June, Triniti’s mother Tiffany said that, “Every day she was asking, ‘Is it June yet?’ She was so excited from day one.”

While in Florida, everything was fantastic for Triniti and her family. While in Orlando, the family stayed at the Regal Sun Resort and enjoyed character breakfasts in the morning, fantastic dinners every evening and tickets to every theme park that Triniti could ever want to visit, thanks to the planning of Triniti’s Wish Coordinator and the generosity of the wish sponsors.

During their four day stay in the Sunshine State, Triniti and her family visited Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure, Wonderworks, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom.

“It was so great,” said Tiffany. “The kids really enjoyed themselves and so did we.”

Though Triniti enjoyed everything she did, her mother said she enjoyed Seuss Landing at Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure best of all.

On their final evening in Florida, Triniti and her family were treated to an exciting evening at the Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater, where Triniti was given the VIP treatment by being invited up on stage during the show and being the center of attention during the dance party after dinner.

As a wish, Triniti’s was perfect; as a vacation, it was the best that her whole family had ever enjoyed together.

Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for helping to make Triniti’s wish extra special: Hair Works Int’l, Compassion Partners, Dollar Thrift Automotive, WonderWorks, Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater, Staybridge Suites, The Regal Sun Resort and The California Pizza Kitchen.
