Michael J. Fox and the Kids Wish Network, along with some “Incurable” optimism, have managed to bring a little happiness to a teenager’s life.

Sixteen year old Gideon, who has cystic fibrosis and recently lost his sight due to complications of brain surgery, found inspiration in the hospital when he caught Michael J. Fox’s “The Incurable Optimist” special on television in his hospital room.

Fox’s optimism inspired Gideon, and the chance to meet Michael seemed like the thing to lift his sprits. A request was made via the Kids wish Network and Fox was happy to help.

In short time the two were brought together in New York City where they spent time at the Central Park Zoo talking about books, movies and Gideon’s new life of blindness. Before leaving Fox left with Gideon signed copies of his book, “Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist.”

Everyone involved described Fox as sweet and sincere.
