Since his diagnosis with Leukemia, Ashton’s life has changed dramatically. He has had to endure many painful chemotherapy treatments, which have caused his fair to fall out and which also make him nauseous; his many daily medications make him cranky. Ashton’s mother says that while he has always been a very cheerful and positive kid, living with leukemia has been extremely hard on her young son and oftentimes he gets down. She says that he gets especially upset when he misses school – and along with it, all of the normal everyday routines that his friends enjoy.
One thing that truly cheered Ashton up was his wish to meet his favorite reality TV star, Jesse James from “Monster Garage.”
Ashton’s mom said that the entire experience meant so much to Ashton, especially meeting Jesse James. She said that her starstruck son was a bit shy at first but warmed up to his idol in no time. Ashton himself couldn’t say enough about his favorite television star. “He was really nice! It was cool!”
During their California trip, the family stayed on The Queen Mary. “It was right on the water,” said Ashton’s mom. “The kids loved it!” They also spent a couple of days at Universal Studios. Second only to meeting Jesse had to be, said Ashton, riding the Revenge of the Mummy ride. “That was really fun!”
The family returned from their trip armed with lots of pictures and wonderful memories. “Ashton really enjoyed himself,” said his mother. “He really thought this was the greatest thing.”
