Name: Hannah
Age: 10
State: Jasper, IN
Facility: Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center

Hannah was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 at a very young age. She has decreased strength and tone in all of her extremities, which requires her to remain in a wheelchair. She experienced significant scoliosis which made surgery a necessity.
Her current hospitalization was due to pneumonia, which required multiple antibiotics and breathing treatments. This was her 3rd pneumonia episode in the last few months. She and her parents are frustrated by the need to be hospitalized again, however their attitudes are always positive.
Hannah is a true Hero in our eyes; she accepts whatever trials her illness brings with a smile and a good attitude.
