Name: Tanner
Age: 11
State: WI
At six-months-old, Tanner was diagnosed with an array of serious medical problems that continue to have a profound affect on his everyday life. This sweet boy with a wide smile suffers from spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, severe ataxia, and epilepsy. Tanner must use a walker for short distances and a motorized scooter for longer distances. Doctors have implanted a vagal nerve stimulator underneath his breastbone in order to help control his severe seizures. Tanner tires very easily and has a difficult time interacting with his mobile peers.
During his wish adventure to the Grand Canyon, Tanner enjoyed taking in the scenery via bus, jeep, and helicopter! The family also visited some local landmarks, marveled at the deer and the birds outside of their hotel room and took tons of pictures, which Tanner promptly put into a photo album to show everyone at school.
