When he was just an infant, Austin was diagnosed with having two blood disorders: Type A Hemophilia and Von Willebrand Disease. Both disorders cause a lack of clotting in the blood and cause much blood loss with even the smallest of cuts. Because of these, Austin must have every injury assessed for severity and sometimes has to endure infusions of factors to help his blood clot correctly. In addition, Austin also suffers from Scoliosis, orthopedic problems for which he has to wear corrective braces and chronic sinus issues which have forced him to endure two sinus surgeries.
For his wish, Austin wanted to visit Disney World in Florida. During his five day stay in the Sunshine State, Austin and his family visited Sea World, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom. While at the parks, Austin and his siblings had a blast feeding dolphins at Sea World, riding the Big Thunder Mountain rollercoaster at Magic Kingdom and watching fireworks displays wherever they went. According to their mom, they enjoyed “a little bit of everything!”
