Paul was born with a genetic disorder known as GSD Type 3A. This is a Glycogen Storage Disease which causes the body to not be able to completely break down glycogen. The glycogen accumulates in the liver and/or muscle tissue. This abnormal accumulation of glycogen then causes the liver to become enlarged and not function properly. Paul has follow-up doctor appointments several times per month while undergoing extensive tests throughout the year.
