Michael is your typical teenage kid, who loves playing sports. Well, while at a golf camp, he began to have aches in his feet and couldn’t walk. His parents took him to the ED where he was then admitted to the PICU area. After many tests were ran and his pain still continued at a very intense level, it was concluded that he had a septic ankle. This caused him to get very sick and he required a vent to keep him alive for a week. He has since had 5 operations and is now is on the road to recovery. He recently celebrated his 14th birthday with us. He is a true hero, in the dr.’s eyes as well as the staff who have had the opportunity to get to know him.
