CJ is a six year old male admitted to Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska for an infection of undetermined origin. CJ has been in the hospital since the middle of March They have done numerous tests, intravenous antibiotic and an appendectomy with exploratory surgery. They just discovered he has mononucleosis. Other tests results have not come back from the laboratory.
CJ is our Hero of the Month for April at SERMC. He has felt ill for a very long time with little relief and being in a hospital bed is difficult for a six year old. CJ’s family consists of 4 younger siblings at home. Both of his parents work so Grandmothers are helping out too. His Mather spends the night at the hospital with him after working all day and the paternal Grandmother spends the day. Dad comes after work until bedtime and then goes home where his Mother is helping with the children at home.
The family is very happy about this opportunity from the Kids Wish Network. They are looking forward to this as a celebration after CJ is well andleaves the hospital.
