Willy is a three year old burn/scald survivor who sustained burns to 73% of his body in August 2009. Since his injury, he has had multiple surgeries for skin grafting and endured extensive rehab. During his rehab phase, Willy has had to relearn how to walk and feed himself. As he continues to heal, he will need to wear pressure garments to his body and face to help with the scarring process of his injury. Despite all the emotional and physical challenges, Willy has always had such a sweet demeanor and found much comfort in holding someone’s hand! Through it all, he has been a very strong 3 year old who has been through more in his young life than most adults. This is why we believe Willy is a true hero!
