When T.J. was just one, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. CP is a group of brain disorders and is characterized by an acute disruption of motor skills, with symptoms such as spasticity and seizures. T.J.’s right side is primarily affected by the CP and causes him great difficulty with walking. He must wear leg braces and use a wheelchair for long distances. T.J. also suffers from severe seizures.
T.J.’s wish was to meet his favorite baseball team: the Baltimore Orioles! Kids Wish Network arranged for him to watch an Orioles game and even gave him the chance to meet some of his favorite players before the game! When he got there, T.J. was escorted to the Orioles’ locker rooms where he was overwhelmed to meet the Oriole’s pitcher, Rodrigo Lopez and catcher, Javy Lopez. This little baseball fan spent time chatting with his heroes and mugging for the camera. Later, he enjoyed time out on the field where Rodrigo taught him how to throw a curve ball. “It was great!” said T.J.’s mom. Even better, was getting to watch a live game. “He just loved it!” she said.
His mom said that T.J. had the time of his life. “He’s still talking about it!”
