Fifteen-year-old Stephanie is a bubbly young lady with a bright smile and a beautiful personality. She loves music and even plays the flute in her high school marching band. Stephanie’s also a fantastic student with a love of science. She collects rocks and loves playing “Guitar Hero” on her Nintendo Wii.
When Stephanie was one year old, she was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a condition in which the bile duct between the liver and small intestine is either blocked or absent. This causes a build up of bile in the liver and leads to cirrhosis and eventual liver failure. Stephanie has had to endure a liver transplant when she was three years old and must still take medicine to ensure that her liver is not rejected by her body. She is also in and out of the doctor’s office frequently.
Stephanie’s one wish was a brand new flute to play in her high school band. When her box arrived from Kids Wish Network, she was shocked with pleasure. She finally had her wish and much much more. Stephanie couldn’t be happier!
