Just last year, Kim was diagnosed with Wegener’s granulomatosis. This is an incredibly rare disease that begins as an inflamed mass in the linings of the nose, throat or lungs. In Kim’s case, 40 golf ball sized masses were found on her lungs and she underwent lung surgery. The condition typically also leads to restricted blood flow and inflammation of the blood vessels. Eventually, this inflammation can cause the tissues to deteriorate. Kim gets tired very easily and must be monitored carefully by her doctors. This was a drastic change to her active lifestyle, in which she loved playing softball and working at an indoor softball facility.
The trip to Orlando was exactly what Kim and her family needed. “We had a great time!” proclaimed Kim’s mother, Monica. There was nothing that Kim and her family did not enjoy. Disney World was thrilling for both Kim and her little brother, especially the Kilimanjaro Safari ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Kim’s absolutely favorite time, however, had to have been shopping in the fantastic Orlando stores, including the Juicy Couture shop, Kim’s favorite designer company.
