Keith has spent most of the last 6 months on our unit for several admissions for management of his systemic lupus erythematous. He has been through many modalities of treatment and many disappointments when anticipated improvements in his condition didn’t occur as expected. Through all of this, Keith has maintained a positive attitude and been diligent in taking his numerous oral medications and tolerating many invasive treatments. He has become like a big brother to many of the younger patients and shown dignity and courage through it all.
