Marissa is a sweet, lovable 4-year-old who was born with a severe lung disease called Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia. This is a chronic illness and causes very serious respiratory problems for Marissa. Something as simple as a common cold will send her to the hospital. She also has a lack of growth hormones and takes shots to help regulate the deficiency.
Marissa was so happy that her theme park wish came true. She loved meeting all the princesses and seeing the fireworks, or the pretties, as she called it. Marissa’s mom said she loved petting the dolphins and stingrays at SeaWorld and couldn’t stop talking about the experience.
