Name: Zachary H.
Just last June, Zachary developed a golf ball-sized lump on his neck and was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is a cancer of the white blood cells. At first, his doctors placed him on antibiotics, but the tumor actually got larger. He then endured surgery to remove all of the lymph nodes on his right side and one of his left lymph nodes. Since the surgeries, Zachary has been put on a nine week course of chemotherapy as well as a rigorous medication regimen.
On his wish, not only did Zach swim with dolphins, but also with parrotfish and barracudas, which may seem pretty scary, but Zach learned something new: that barracudas are more scared of people than the people are of them! The whole vacation was a fun learning experience that will stay with Zach for his entire life.
