Donny is from El Paso and he has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which is a disease characterized by rapidly progressive muscle deterioration. By the age of 8, Donny was confined to a wheelchair. He has a difficult time lifting his arms and must now undergo rigorous physical therapy sessions.
For his only wish, Donny wanted a big screen TV to play his favorite video games on. Not only did his wish come true in the form of a 46” flat screen TV, he also got a year of free digital cable to accompany it. Along with his brand new wish TV, Donny also got a gift box full of games and other items for him to enjoy; Donny’s wish coordinator even asked Donny’s favorite rock star, Gene Simmons, to sign a photo for him and Gene sent Donny some personalized signed photos as well as an autographed KISS wall clock! Donny never thought that such a simple wish could turn out to be quite so awesome.
