When Christina and her family started to notice that her smile looked crooked, they took her to the hospital and doctor’s discovered that she had a brain tumor. She had emergency surgery to remove the tumor which had adhered to her Auditory nerve. The majority of the tumor was removed, but the surgery left her with left side hearing loss and permanent left side paralysis. Although a large portion of the tumor was taken out, there is a strong chance that it will re-grow. Christina receives an MRI every three months to make sure they tumor has not returned.
Christina’s one wish was to go parasailing in Catalina Island. She had such an amazing time and said she felt like she “was floating.” Christina and her family got to go on an eco-tour of the island, a flying-fish boat excursion and even ride in a high-speed catamaran! The whole family had an amazing time on the wish and it was so much more than what they expected!
