In 2008, Amanda was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a highly malignant and fast-growing cancer that started in Amanda’s left hand and spread to her pancreas and liver. She has suffered through both chemotherapy and radiation treatments to shrink the cancer and has had to have a port placed in her body to receive these treatments.

When Amanda visited Florida, she had a good deal of fun exploring both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom. Her favorite part of her whole wish, however, was being a part of the show at the Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater! Who knew that walking the plank could be so exciting?
