MT. CORY, Ohio – A little girl with a life-threatening illness gets the wish of her life when she visits Disney World, with a little help from Kids Wish Network.
Nine-year-old Kayla is a very happy-go-lucky little girl who just loves Disney. Her favorite musical star, television show and game are all Disney’s brightest star, Hannah Montana. She also loves the music of all of the High School Musicals. Kayla’s favorite color is pink and she has a very nice rock collection.
At six months old, Kayla was diagnosed with a severe seizure disorder. Due to this condition she is on various medications to help control the debilitating seizures she experiences. Kayla also has severe allergies and suffers from asthma. Because of these afflictions, she must bear twice-weekly allergy shots, is on a strict daily medication regimen and has to endure twice daily treatments with a breathing machine.
After being referred to Kids Wish Network through her aunt, Kayla let Wish Coordinator Jill know about her one wish to visit Walt Disney World in Florida. Along with the assistance of Wish Funding Specialist, Megan, and some outstanding sponsors, Jill worked her “Guardian Angel” magic and set up an awesome family getaway for Kayla and her family.
This fabulous vacation included a stay at The Royal Plaza Hotel, dinner at the Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater and, of course, tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort and all of the other major Orlando theme parks!
Jill made sure that Kayla’s wish itinerary was booked with lots of fun things to experience, and Kayla’s mom, LaDonna, appreciated every little effort on behalf of her daughter.
“Jill did an amazing job with that itinerary…it was really amazing!”
Kayla got to do everything she wanted, which included visiting SeaWorld, Universal Studios and Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Out of all that she experienced, according to LaDonna, “Kayla loved the castle and visiting Mickey Mouse’s little house [in ToonTown]. I’ve never seen anything like all that! Kayla just loved it!”
For Kayla, it was all a dream come true.
“She [Kayla] really had a great time with everything,” said LaDonna. “I really appreciate everything you all [at Kids Wish Network] did for Kayla. It was great!”
