Local Boy Hosts Fundraiser for the Organization that Granted his Only Wish

HAMILTON, Ohio – A little boy’s wish is granted by national children’s charity Kids Wish Network, and now he wants to help raise funds for the wishes of other children.

11-year-old Bradley was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis and Epilepsy when he was just a toddler. Tuberous Sclerosis is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow in various major organs such as the brain, heart, and lungs. Because of the tumors on Bradley’s brain, he has developed Asperger’s Syndrome, which causes various developmental delays. Bradley also suffers from epileptic seizures and takes various medications to try to keep them in check.

After talking to another local family whose child has Tuberous Sclerosis about a wish that was granted through Kids Wish Network, Bradley’s mother, Debbie, decided to give the charity a call.

Soon, Bradley was in contact with Wish Coordinator Jen, who found out that he wanted only to visit Walt Disney World. With the help of Wish Funding Specialist Megan and some fantastic sponsors, Jen worked her “guardian angel magic” and organized a Florida dream-come-true for Bradley and his family that included a hotel stay, tickets to the local theme parks and even dinners every night.

“They [Bradley and his siblings] were talking about the trip before we even went, they were so excited,” said Debbie. “We had a lot of fun and we did a little bit of everything!”

Bradley and his family visited Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Some of the highlights of the trip for Bradley were the “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster” ride at the Hollywood Studios and “Expedition Everest” at Animal Kingdom.

“Jen did a great job…everything was just great. It was all wonderful,” said Debbie.

Because of having such a special wish granted, Debbie and her son are happy to announce that they’ll be helping out with a fundraiser for Kids Wish Network hosted by the Miami University Hamilton Student Organization!

The Student Organization is hosting a fundraising bowling event for Kids Wish Network as their official “Make A Difference Day” on Saturday, October 24th. This fun event will be held at the Columbia Bowling Alley and will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Bradley and his family will be in attendance and they’re looking forward to seeing plenty of people show up to support the charity that granted Bradley’s magical wish.

Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for helping to make Bradley’s wish extra special: Compassion Partners, WonderWorks, Pirates Dinner Adventure, The Royal Plaza Hotel, California Pizza Kitchen, Loveland American Legion, Hamilton Caster & Manufacturing Company, Miami University Hamilton Student Organization and Miami Heating & Cooling.
