Mt. Pleasant, SC – Wish Kid, Tyler, finally gets his hands on an Acer computer all because of a little “guardian angel” magic at Kids Wish Network.
Tyler loves technology. He’s always playing video games and computer games; Tyler even has a scholarship to the college that he wants to attend to become a computer technician. Everything was laid out for Tyler’s future until a trip to the doctor threw everyone for a loop. This January, Tyler was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma. This type of cancer primarily affects the lymphatic system. He also has an arrhythmia caused by an electrical pathway in the heart, called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Both chemotherapy and radiation treatments have been used on Tyler to try to neutralize the cancer.
At the hospital where Tyler was being treated, a social worker brought up Kids Wish Network and the wishes that they give to kids and teens with life-threatening illnesses. Here was the chance for his parents to give something back to their brave son. A Wish Coordinator was assigned to Tyler’s case and it was she who found out Tyler’s top wish: to have his own desktop computer. With the assistance of some wonderful sponsors, Kids Wish Network made sure that this was one wish he would never forget.
Tyler’s next trip to Wal-Mart was a special one: he went to pick up his brand new computer and printer. According to Tyler, “Everything went real smooth.” Since then, Tyler claims to “use the computer every day!” His new computer is amazing and he finally has the chance to practice the skills that mean so much to him. The brand new Acer desktop was just what Tyler needed.
Tyler will never forget the great gift he received from Kids Wish Network and is extremely grateful for having given him the chance to stay “connected”. Kids Wish Network was only too happy to make his dream come true.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for making Tyler’s wish come true: Wal-Mart, Mayor Hallman and Hammerton Lodge #332AFM.
