A Very Special Young Dayton Beach Girl’s Dream Comes True

Daytona Beach, FL – Ashley was born with congenital heart disease. This brave girl has been in and out of the hospital much of her young life and has endured numerous surgeries. Due to the seriousness of her condition, Ashley is unable to engage in any very physical activities. She must also visit her cardiologist frequently. In addition, Ashley was diagnosed last year with scoliosis.

While Ashley’s condition prevents her from doing many of the same things as other kids her age, it didn’t stop her from enjoying an exciting trip to Disney World. Ashley’s special trip was courtesy of Kids Wish Network, an organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Ashley’s adventure to Disney began with a simple phone call. Her grandmother, Edna, received a call from one of Kids Wish Network’s professional fundraisers. When asked if she knew of a child who might qualify for a wish, Edna immediately thought of Reanna and submitted her name. Before long, Edna got the good news: Ashley was indeed eligible for a wish.

When Kids Wish Network wish coordinator, Jessica, called Ashley for her number one wish, this courageous teen didn’t hesitate: wanted to go to Disney World.

Jessica got right to work. She secured hotel accommodations in Orlando, arranged for theme park tickets, arranged for fun activities in the area and more. It would prove to be a trip Ashley will never forget.

During her busy stay in Florida, Ashley headed out to the parks she wanted to visit most: Epcot, Animal Kingdom , and course, the Magic Kingdom.

Jessica also had some other fun surprises in store for Ashley. She not only arranged for passes to Wonderworks, Orlando’s famous ‘upside-down’ museum, she also secured dinner reservations at the Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater.

Ashley returned home from her special wish trip with memories that she will treasure forever. This courageous girl learned that sometimes dreams really do come true.

Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for helping to make Reanna’s wish come true: Bubbalou’s Bodacious Bar B Que, Compassion Partners, Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater, Red Lobster, The Royal Plaza Hotel, Wonderworks, The Douglas Exchange Club and The Douglas Lions Club.
