Kids Wish Network has Victoria bubbling with excitement

BALTIMORE – Victoria is a sweet and adorable 8-year-old girl who loves anything purple – especially Barney, listening to NSYNC and most of all swimming. Her outgoing personality spreads joy to everyone around her. At such a young age Victoria must deal with more difficulties than most kids – she has acute lymphoblastic leukemia and Down syndrome. Despite these extra challenges in her life, Victoria is a cheerful child who loves to keep others laughing with her funny antics. Catherine, Victoria’s mother said, “She has the biggest heart.”

Wish Coordinator Kara Stecker of Kids Wish Network was contacted about Victoria who was so excited to have a special dream come true. Initially Victoria’s parents had no idea what her wish would be, but when Kara asked her what she wanted more than anything, Victoria excitedly exclaimed, “Hot tub!” Kara quickly whirled into action, contacting Sundance Spas to see if they could help this special little girl with her big wish. Happy to help, Sundance Spas graciously donated a hot tub that far surpassed Victoria’s dreams.

It was such a thrilling day when her only wish arrived at her house. “She was so excited she couldn’t wait to get home from school,” said Catherine. “When she first saw it she yelled out, ‘my hot tub!’ and gave it a big hug.” Victoria was especially proud to tell her Special Olympics swimming class about her gift that she uses for practicing all of her swimming strokes. Victoria has practiced so much that she recently won a silver and gold medal in a swimming competition.

Although Victoria and her family will still be faced with the uncertain challenges of her illness, Victoria will always have a special retreat where she can go and swim all of her cares away.

Kids Wish Network would like to thank Sundance Spas for making Victoria’s wish a dream come true.
