LINEVILLE – Jonathan is a sweet and quiet 16-year-old who loves playing video games, watching his favorite football team the Atlanta Falcons and the movie Dr. Doolittle 2. While Jonathan’s interests are similar to other teens, he highly values something that most teenagers his age take for granted – his health. At only 5 months old, Jonathan was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Treatments are harsh, as he must undergo painful poundings on his chest and back to clear his lungs in addition to needing oxygen around the clock. Soon, Jonathan may even have to undergo a double lung transplant.
When Wish Coordinator Kara Stecker of Kids Wish Network was contacted about this special young man and his wish for a shopping spree, she quickly coordinated a fun day for Jonathan’s upcoming birthday for a celebration that he would always remember.
To surprise Jonathan before his big wish, Kara sent him a gift package with teen-oriented gifts that she knew would brighten his day. Then, it wasn’t long before Jonathan and his mother were off to the Quintard Mall for a day of VIP treatment. Not only did they enjoy a day of shopping, but they also were treated to a meal at Garfield’s Restaurant and a movie.
Kids Wish Network would like to graciously thank Quintard Mall, 12 Cinemas and Garfield’s Restaurant for making Jonathan’s wish a dream come true.
