Jason is “Sittin’ On Top of the World” meeting LeAnn Rimes

Jason, age 17, of Baltimore, has a lot of loves in the world. He enjoys building model cars, spending time with his dogs Babe and Lucas and is especially “Crazy” for singing sensation LeAnn Rimes.  While Jason also has a passion for baseball, he has a hard time being involved in athletic activities, and even has difficulty walking long distances without stopping to rest. Jason has spina bifida.

When wish coordinator Madeline Robinson of Kids Wish Network heard about Jason’s dream to meet his favorite singer LeAnn Rimes, she thought, “Don’t Worry” Jason, I’ll do whatever it takes to make your dream come true!

And that’s just what Madeline did.

Jason and his family flew from Baltimore to San Diego on American Airlines and were chauffeured by Popular Limo Service to the Regency Plaza Hotel, where they would be staying that weekend. Not wanting to waste any time on their trip to California, the family spent their first day at the San Diego Zoo. After a busy day, they curbed their appetite with a royal feast of prime rib, steak and mud pie at Hunter’s Steak House.

The next morning it was hard to believe the big day had finally arrived. Jason’s family was met by Jeremy, a chauffeur for Corporate Limo Service, who went to great lengths to make sure the wish was extra special. On the way to the Viejas Casino and Turf Club for dinner and LeAnn’s concert, Jeremy bonded with Jason and psyched him up for his dream that was about to come true.

After dinner at the Turf Club, Jason’s excitement was quickly building, because it was time for his “just desserts.”  Jason and his family were invited backstage to meet his sweetest idol before her show.

LeAnn spent a great deal of time getting to know Jason, and even gave him a thoughtful kiss on the cheek. He was so star struck, that afterward, he had to be reminded of LeAnn’s unexpected kiss. “It was awesome!” said Jason.

After the special meeting, the excitement continued when Jason watched the superstar he just met, perform all his favorite songs from the seventh row. “It was the most wonderful experience! I liked her music even better live!”

It was truly a California dream. Although life for Jason hasn’t always been easy, he will always remember his special wish when everything in his life felt just perfect, and he was “Sittin’ on top of the World.”

Our deepest gratitude goes out to our kind and generous sponsors: The Regency Plaza Hotel, American Airlines, Hunter’s Steak House, the San Diego Zoo, Corporate Limo Service, Popular Limousine Service and The Viejas Casino and Turf Club for making Jason’s wish a dream come true.
