Companies prepare to take the ‘Challenge’ and make wishes come true

TAMPACorporations will come together battling their minds and bodies for Kids Wish Network’s Team Wish Challenge fundraiser, held March 10, 2001, at USF’s Riverfront Challenge Course. Corporate sponsors will strategize team-building techniques as they are challenged physically and mentally in activities such as rock climbing, crazy corporate canoeing and the high ropes course. The fundraiser will benefit Kids Wish Network’s Guardian Angel fund, of which 100% of the net proceeds will go directly toward making even more dreams come true for terminally ill children in need of a special dose of happiness.

Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. with the team spirit of the Tampa Bay Buccanner Cheerleaders, immediately followed by “the challenges” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Celebrity team captains, including members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, local TV and radio personalities and surprise guests will be on hand to offer their support and cheer on competing teams.

That same day, An Evening of Enchantment, a lavish black tie gala held at the Wyndham Westshore, will dazzle attendees with fine dining, entertainment, dancing, a fantasy auction with unique and extravagant items, surprise guests and actual wishes unfolding, showing guests firsthand the magic a wish can bring to a sick child.

Jack Harris of WFLA and Martie Tucker of ABC28 will be the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies of this mystical event. The gala begins at 7 p.m.
